Elena Kurtz DMD (Specialty No. 5731)

Dr. Elena Kurtz, DMD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and a Specialist Member of the American Association of Endodontists. She brings exceptional clinical expertise, experience, and passion to the specialty of endodontics and has proudly served the South Jersey community for nearly two decades.

Dr. Kurtz earned her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2004, followed by her Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania Endodontic Residency Program in 2006. Shortly thereafter, she achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics—a distinction that reflects an exceptionally rigorous certification process and was especially rare at the time, with only a small percentage of American endodontists attaining board certification.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kurtz has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, where she contributed to the education and mentorship of future dentists and endodontic specialists.

Dr. Kurtz is committed to delivering the highest standard of care by integrating the latest advances in endodontic technology. Her approach emphasizes patient comfort, minimally invasive treatment, and highly predictable outcomes. She utilizes a Zeiss surgical operating microscope in every case, ensuring enhanced visualization, precision, and accuracy. She also incorporates innovations such as laser-activated irrigation for enhanced root canal disinfection and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) 3D imaging to provide comprehensive visualization of the root canal system and support precise treatment planning.

Dedicated to lifelong learning and clinical excellence, Dr. Kurtz has developed particular interests in:

–  Apicoectomy surgery in the esthetic zone, including the use of plastic surgery suturing techniques to minimize scarring

–  Management of odontogenic sinusitis arising from endodontic infections

– Treatment of traumatic dental injuries

– Pediatric endodontics and vital pulp therapy, with a focus on preserving the vitality of teeth in young patients

Patients often appreciate not only her technical expertise but also her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine dedication to their well-being. Her goal is simple: for her team to provide care that she would want for her own family—thoughtful, precise, and delivered with compassion.
